The Denver Broncos made another roster move as injuries continue to test their offensive line depth. The team needed reinforcements at tackle after shifting Alex Palczewski inside to left guard, creating gaps along the front.

Denver found their solution on another team’s practice squad. Broncos beat writer Zac Stevens reported Monday that the organization signed veteran tackle Geron Christian from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad, giving them a fourth option at the position.

“The Broncos are signing OT Geron Christian off the Cowboys practice squad, per his agency, Elite Loyalty Sports,” Stevens wrote on X.

The move required corresponding action on the 53-man roster. Denver waived veteran receiver and punt returner Michael Bandy to create space for Christian, according to multiple reports.

Christian brings plenty of experience despite bouncing around the league since Washington selected him in the third round of the 2018 draft. The 29-year-old lineman has logged time with the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, and the Los Angeles Rams over his seven-year career.

He’s appeared in 63 games with 25 starts, including five contests last season between Los Angeles and Cleveland. Christian was also on Kansas City’s roster during their 2022 Super Bowl championship season, playing in 10 regular-season games, though he didn’t see playoff action.

The timing matters for Denver. They face Kansas City on Sunday with Ben Powers and Matt Peart sidelined. Palczewski’s shift to guard left the tackle position thin, making Christian and Frank Crum the primary depth pieces at that spot.

His familiarity with multiple offensive systems should help him adjust quickly as the Broncos look to shore up protection heading into a crucial divisional matchup.
