The Washington Commanders quickly established themselves as an up-and-coming team during the 2024 NFL season.
Despite doubts from analysts heading into the year, the Commanders quickly shut down the noise.
They took down some of the best teams in the NFC, including the Detroit Lions, on the way to their first NFC Championship Game appearance in decades.
With that success in mind, one might think the Commanders would be comfortable with the roster that got them to that point, wanting to keep things mostly the same in 2025.
However, they recognized that they had some positions that they could improve, and as a result, they’ve been one of the most active organizations this offseason.
Washington added some key veterans, and some of their rookies could also end up being valuable contributors.
For example, one rookie is already turning heads at team activities.

There could be some playing time available behind Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler at running back, and if Croskey-Merritt continues to impress, he could be a factor for one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL.
Playing with a young quarterback of Jayden Daniels’ caliber would be a great opportunity for any rookie on the offensive side of the ball.
