Pittsburgh Steelers fans were anxiously waiting to find out the team’s decision at quarterback for the upcoming season.
After the Steelers didn’t make a significant move in the 2025 NFL Draft, one player seemed inevitable: Aaron Rodgers.
The veteran was connected to the Steelers for several months, but nothing materialized until the past few days, when the sides officially agreed to a deal.
For an organization that has been searching for a solid veteran QB since Ben Roethlisberger retired, Rodgers’ presence could indicate that things are turning around.
He was recently asked about the main reasons for signing with the Steelers and he didn’t hesitate to name his new head coach.
“You know, I think it starts with Mike Tomlin. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers and Tomlin have been linked by a sense of mutual respect.
After all, both men have been in the NFL for a long time, so they’ve experienced their fair share of failures and successes.
Tomlin is regarded as one of the best head coaches in the league, and despite some of Rodgers’ off-field antics, there’s a real chance that this pairing could work better than anyone expects.
There’s a lot of work to be done between now and the start of the 2025 campaign, but if any coach is prepared to lead a player like Rodgers, it’s Tomlin.
