There were a lot of highly anticipated games ahead of Week 1 of the NFL season, but the matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and Miami Dolphins wasn’t necessarily one of them.
Fans of both teams were excited to see what their squad could do in the first game of the season, but people around the league didn’t expect this to be a game that generated headlines.
That couldn’t have been further from the truth when this game was actually played out, as this has been one of the most talked-about games from the slate.
The Dolphins’ offense was nowhere to be found, and their defense was a lot leakier than it’s been in the past.
Meanwhile, the Colts were firing on all cylinders on the offensive side of the ball, grabbing a commanding lead from the jump and never giving it back.
They ended up winning this game 33-8, and would have had a shutout if it hadn’t been for a De’Von Achane touchdown in the fourth quarter.
If it felt like the Colts were extremely dominant in real time, they were, and the numbers back it up.
Analyst Warren Sharp noted this on X, showcasing how every drive the Colts had resulted in them either making it to the red zone or scoring a touchdown before they made it to that point.

Not many people anticipated the Colts to beat the brakes off the Dolphins in this one, but it was an interesting result, one that fans would like to see continue in the coming weeks.
Their Week 2 opponent is the Denver Broncos, so this offense will get a real test to see what they can do against a high-caliber defense.
