For many years, Stephen A. Smith has been one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sports personality around, and he has been good for ESPN, the network he has been associated with for well over a decade.

Recently, there has been some speculation that he could leave ESPN, and he even recently suggested that he may run for political office, possibly as a member of the Democratic party.

But Smith told Front Office Sports that he expects to reach a deal with ESPN to remain with it.

“Hopefully we’ll reach a deal very, very soon and I’ll march forward with ESPN for the foreseeable future,” Smith said.

While he is a polarizing figure because of his hot takes and ultra-loquacious personality, Smith is also a big draw for those same reasons.

He has been a fixture on ESPN’s “First Take” for years, and some look forward to some of his quirks, such as his constant bashing of the Dallas Cowboys and his intense fandom of the New York Knicks.

Smith has also made a couple of appearances on the long-running soap opera “General Hospital,” first in 2007 and again in 2016.

ESPN has gone through some significant changes lately, as it let go of some of its other big personalities, such as Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy, who called NBA games for it going back many years.

With the changing landscape of sports viewership, it will be interesting to see how Smith spends his time at the network in the years to come.
